Badwater Ultramarathon

The Badwater Ultramarathon is an iconic and grueling endurance race that pushes the limits of human athleticism. Known as the “World’s Toughest Foot Race,” it takes place annually in the scorching heat of Death Valley, California. Covering a distance of approximately 135 miles (217 kilometers), participants face extreme desert conditions and substantial elevation changes.

Starting at the Badwater Basin, the lowest point in North America at 282 feet (86 meters) below sea level, the race course climbs to a high point of 8,360 feet (2,548 meters) at Whitney Portal, near the summit of Mount Whitney.
